Beth discusses life after sport


The Manchester Evening News report on our very own Olympic medallist and Director of Total Gymnastics, Beth Tweddle as she speaks at State of Play event about how important it is for athletes to think about their plans after sport.

After retiring as Britain’s most successful gymnast in 2013, Beth recalls how her passion for the sport and for working with children was the beginning of Total Gymnastics, saying “I have achieved my dream and picked up my Olympic medal. Now I want to inspire.”

Beth then moves on to discuss the benefits of sport for young people when searching for jobs, saying “So many of the skills athletes naturally have are difficult to teach people: determination, teamwork, resilience, the perfectionist in them, making plans to achieve goals and sticking to them.”
